What is included in an air conditioning service?
All our experienced air conditioning engineers are F-Gas qualified and we are also registered with Refcom. The standards we adhere to ensure that any work undertaken on your air conditioning systems is of an excellent standard and that energy is not being wasted.
Air conditioning systems range from single split systems which can be wall mounted, ceiling mounted or floor mounted to larger installations with many evaporators connected to single or multiple condensers.
The maintenance requirements for each type of system will vary widely and will also be dependant on the environment in which they serve.
The two environmental problems associated with air conditioning plant is the potential depletion of the ozone layer through the release of CFC’s and also Legionnellosis from untreated water systems. This demonstrates the requirement for regular maintenance to the highest standard, provided by ABC Ltd.
The following procedures will be undertaken on the different components in our standard service for a split air conditioning unit comprising of an evaporator (indoor) and a condenser (outdoor).
Air Conditioning Service - Component procedures
Evaporator
- Leaks Unit checked for signs of leaks
- Coil Cleaned and condition checked
- Condensate tray and drain Checked to ensure the drain is clear, flushed and sterilised.
- Condensate Pump Operation checked, cleaned and flushed if required.
- Casing Cleaned
- Filters are checked and cleaned
- All controls checked and adjusted where necessary
Condenser
- Operating pressure checked and also pressure switches using gauges
- Solenoid Valves Checked to ensure they do not bypass
- Head pressure control devices (fan and speed sequencing) Operation checked
- Motor Mountings Checked for security and tightness
- Condenser coil Inspected and cleaned, tested for refrigerant leaks and oil staining on the end of the coils, fins checked for damage, combed out and chemically cleaned.
- Casing Cleaned and secured, fan guards checked.
- Belt drives Check pullet alignment and belt where (where applicable)
